Each year we run an sharing your faith seminar that gives us a biblical framework for 1-2-1 evangelism and also some tools for sharing the gospel with unbelievers. We reflect on 1 Peter 3:15 and the importance of questions – provoking questions by our lives, answering the questions people have and asking questions of others to get them thinking.
This year we’re going to do something slightly different and we have a guest speaker, John Mackinnon, to help us. We’re going to learn from the guys at www.theword121.com about how to share and read the bible with a friend. One of their strap-lines is to be ‘bible sharers not bible teachers’ which is very helpful and empowering. We don’t have to be experts or have all the answers, but we can share God’s word with people so they read it themselves and come to their own conclusions.
Word One To One have produced a simple and easy to use John’s gospel that makes it easy for you to sit down with your friends and let them read, with a few guiding questions, to get the conversation going.
