Our next Prayer & Worship Night will be 7.30pm on:
CCC Central – Wednesday 30th September (Synge Street Secondary School)
CCC South – Wednesday 30th September (Oatlands Primary School)
CCC North – Wednesday 30th September (Santry)
We have multiplied our monthly Prayer & Worship night into three separate gatherings, to be congregation-based.
On weeks that prayer & worship night is on, our City Groups usually don’t meet separately, but will gather together to meet with God, pray for one another and seek his blessing on the city. If you have joined us at a Sunday gathering you are so welcome to come along.
Why are we doing this?
Jesus, quoting Isaiah 56:7, says “my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations” (Matthew 21:13 & Mark 11:17). The psalmist famously said ‘Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labour in vain’ – we don’t want to be a church where we’re labouring in vain because the Lord’s house is not a house of prayer.
Prayer is to be at the heart of our personal walk with God and our corporate life together as a church. Prayer is the heart-beat and engine of the church. To his disciples before he left them Jesus said ‘If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing’ (John 15:5) – we cannot bear not fruit, whether the fruit of Christlikeness in character or the fruit of sharing the gospel with others, without remaining deeply in him. Prayer is how we remain in him and his word remains in us.
With this in mind, and to help us grow in our corporate prayer as a church we are multiplying our prayer & worship nights into three gatherings – one per congregation. Our hope behind this is to
- Enable more people to attend – with a location more geographically local and familiar to where people live
- Enable more intimacy and confidence together – as the people we pray with are the same people we see on Sundays and in City Groups (we’re all from the same congregation)
- Enable more focus – as we pray into specific missional, pastoral and practical needs and plans of our specific congregation
Here are the locations, 7.30-9.15pm
- South – The Vaughans’ house, Stillorgan
- Central – Synge Street School, Portobello
- North – Glasnevin, Santry or Raheny (location rotates)
