We’re coming up to our next Intro Course, and to help you understand what it’s all about and why you might want to come, I interviewed one our previous guests, Rebecca, on her experience of Intro.
(1) What is it?
The Intro Course is an opportunity to discuss some of the questions we often face in life- what is truth? Why am I here? Through small group table discussions we talk about our own experiences and our experiences with God.
(2) Who is it for?
It is for anyone who is searching for answers about life, God and themselves! It gives everyone an opportunity to look deeper within themselves and listen to other people’s experiences.
(3) What did you like about it?
It is wonderful to hear similar stories or feelings from other people. When you get down about life, or the world, it’s easy to feel alone and overwhelmed. At the Intro Course you may find other people with similar questions or experiences! It is also a low focus evening, in that you will not be asked to stand up in front of a large group people to talk about yourself but rather you sit in small groups where everyone has the opportunity to share as much or as little as they want.
(4) What did you get from it?
At Intro I felt incredibly safe. I didn’t feel that there was a right or wrong answer to any question and everyone had the opportunity to speak their mind. It was wonderful to share with other people who were also trying to answer the same questions about life and God, and the topics we were discussing were relevant to where I was in life.
(5) Why invite friends to Intro?
I would invite friends to Intro because it is a low focus, safe space where you can listen, share, and discover more about yourself, other people’s experiences and God. There is no pressure, there is no right or wrong answer, and it’s a good opportunity for people who want to explore their faith to meet others who feel the same way. Sometimes all people need is an invitation- I know I did!
