September 2025 will be a big moment for CCC!
A third (North) congregation
On Sunday 21st September 2025 we’ll be sending and commissioning the North congregation. Their first Sunday as a separate congregation will be Sunday 28th September, with their official launch on Sunday 5th October.
Moving from two to three congregations is a big moment for us as a church. It is both exciting and daunting. We will feel a mix of gratitude and sadness. It’s wonderful that we can send off the team to reach a new area of Dublin – but that is a change for all of us, and that means making some adjustments.
Renew Sundays – 7th and 14th September
Before we send off the North congregation we’ll participate in our Renew Sundays, where we remind ourselves of what God has done for us and commit afresh to him and his purposes in this city.
We do this each year; to give us an opportunity – personally and corporately – to be renewed in the Lord: in our relationship to him, to each other and to sharing the gospel.
What is the church?
To help us with both of these things we’re going to do a short series called ‘What is the church?’ picking out four themes from the four different chapters of Philippians that we have just studied. Here is the plan
- Sun 7th Sept (Renew – part 1) – Partners in the gospel (Philippians 1)
- Sun 14th Sept (Renew – part 2) – Servants of one another (Philippians 2)
- Sun 21st Sept (North commissioning service) – Pressing on in Christ (Philippians 3)
- Sun 28th Sept (first Sunday as three congregations) – An alternative family (Philippians 4)

- Central, 4.30pm – Synge Street School (Portobello)
We’ll also be discussing the themes midweek in our various City Groups around the city.
