In Christ City Church we believe that prayer works, that when we pray God listens and acts. Jesus himself taught his disciples how to pray, that we could address God as Father and could ask God for help with our daily needs.
The book of Hebrews in the New Testament also encourages us to pray. The writer says that because of what Jesus has done on the cross, acting as our perfect high priest (connecting us to God) and being the perfect sacrifice (paying the price for our sins) we should approach God boldly. He says:
Since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to feel sympathy for our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are – yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need
The Prayer Team in Christ City Church is a small group of men and women who want to pray for you or any needs that you have.
By submitting this form your request will be distributed to these people who will commit to praying for you for one month, during which time they’ll bring that request to our church Prayer and Worship Night on the first Wednesday of each month. If the prayer team has a Bible verse or encouragement they may send this to you by email.
Anonymity will be respected and personal details will not be shared with anyone outside of the group. Should you wish to meet with someone to talk further don’t hesitate to get in contact and you’re always welcome to join us on a Sunday where you can also receive prayer in person or post anonymous prayer requests through our letter box.
