Tell us a bit about yourself?
I grew up in a small town in Essex, UK and have a background in dance and creative arts. I enjoy reading, cycling, getting on aeroplanes and watching the news, I’m always pretty up to date on current affairs! My biggest passion is teaching and this love of facilitating lead me to achieve my Bachelors degree in Primary Teaching/Dance Education. After graduating I caught the travel bug and having my experiences blown wide open on a mission trip to Serbia, I taught English Language all across Europe including Austria, Germany, Bulgaria and Slovenia! I am an activist for social justice and now I’m studying for a Masters degree in Youth and Community Work at Maynooth University with a heart for serving children and young people as they grow and become people of their own. I have never lost my teaching spirit, it has just adapted and is more focussed specifically now: raising and empowering the next generation! Another passion of mine is to encourage our global network of brothers and sisters, after all, we are all on the same mission together so I love mission trips, experiencing different cultures and praying around cities.
What brought you to Ireland?
After completing my Youth With A Mission (YWAM) Discipleship Training School in Hungary, my husband Marko and I sought the LORD for our new directed path. Neither of us knew anyone in Ireland and in fact, neither of us had even visited. We didn’t let this stop us when we felt the LORD speaking that we should step out in faith and make the journey to across Europe to Ireland. God opened doors for us to move to the republic and we first started off a little west of Dublin in County Offaly experiencing some of the rich culture of Ireland. We moved to Dublin in 2019 when I started my Masters and have been again encouraged by the generosity of brothers and sisters across this city. There is much the LORD wants to do here and we are humbled to be invited by God along the journey towards his great plans for redemption.
How did you become a Christian?
I grew up in a Christian family with my mum taking me to church. It wasn’t until my mid teens that I had to search for the truth behind the Christian messages I was raised with and proclaim faith as my own. I went on an Alpha course and this lead to being invited to a Christian festival for young people called Soul Survivor. I had never experienced anything like it and was absolutely blown away by the power of the Holy Spirit! Everything made sense to me and I experienced the love of God in a way which knew me so intimately. God gave me peace, joy, healing and a huge new family! I knew of my adoption through Jesus’ blood and my Christian journey has taken me onwards and upwards. Its been a roller-coaster and an adventure simultaneously. Nothing is like journeying with God!
What are you most excited about in your new role?
I am honoured to be offered this role and I’m excited to get to know all the children, babies and tots even better and play a key part in their childhood journeys whilst investing in their early lives. I am looking forward to bringing my experience and to continuing this strong ministry which is so important to the church community. I am excited to be joining a great staff team with committed volunteers and prayer warriors who are faithfully working to bless to Dublin and the island as a whole.
