The Christ City Church weekend away is for everyone – whether you’re new or old, part of the church or just interested, christian or not a christian, we’d love you to join us.

WHEN: 10th-12th November 2017. Please arrive on Friday evening for a meal at 7pm and we’ll leave after Sunday lunch (around 2-3pm). If you can’t come for the whole weekend but would like to join us for a day or one night, please speak to Ola.
WHO: Everyone is welcome whether you call yourself part of Christ City Church or not. We can help with lifts and financial support if you need.
WHAT: There will be a mix of teaching from the bible, group discussion, sung worship, time for prayer, time to hang out, play games, eat and generally enjoy unhurried time with God and one another.
We’ll have David Montgomery (Monty for short!) joining us as our guest speaker for the weekend. Aside from being an over-the-top Manchester City fan (which we’ll forgive him for!) Monty has a wealth of ministry experience, having been a Pastor of churches in Wicklow and Belfast; and he recently completed a PhD in bi-vocational church planting. He is now the Director of Christian Unions Ireland (CUI), a para-church organisation that seeks to equip students to represent Christ on campus. Do check out Monty’s Blog for more details. He is married to Gwen, who runs her own business, and will also be joining us for the weekend. We’re delighted they’re both able to join us.
WHY: As a new church in the city it’s vital that church becomes a community; a family. A weekend away gives lots of space to make new friends, get to know one another better and have lots of fun.
ACCOMMODATION AND COST:
There are different types of rooms in the manor and the price you pay depends on the type of room you’d like (it may come down to how many people you’re prepared to share with!). This year we are offering an Early Bird option – if you sign up and pay by 24th October you’ll save money. So make sure you sign up early! After that all prices go up by 5 euro. Bookings will close on 1st November.
This amount covers your accommodation, food and activities for the weekend. It doesn’t include transport or any extra money you may want to spend (for example in the pub). The cost of coming for a day or one night will be around 20-40 euro depending on your circumstances.
You’ll have the option of paying online via Paypal or in cash. Payments can also be done in instalments (talk to Ola for details). You’ll see all the details after you’ve booked and we’ll also send you an email with those details.
Please note: if money is an issue for you please don’t let that stop you coming – we would much rather have you than your money, and we have a bursary to help people out. Just sign yourself up and then talk to Ola Ngaditono or Steve Vaughan.
TRANSPORT: When you sign up you’ll be asked about whether you intend to drive yourself, if you can offer a lift to someone else, or if you need a lift. We’ll be trying to fit everyone into cars, and may ask some people about hiring cars if necessary. If you’re getting a lift it would be great if you can contribute to petrol costs, but if money is a problem please don’t worry as we can help you out.
FACILITIES: The venue has space for us to meet, eat, sleep and socialise, as well as not being too far from Dublin, so it’s ideally suited for us. There’s a sports hall and two lounges with large open fireplaces for a cosy atmosphere. There lots of space for outdoor activities too!
FAMILIES: There will be a kids programme provided for school age children (starting from Junior Infants) during our teaching sessions. For younger kids there will be a parent-led creche available. Families will be accommodated together – there are no cots available but if you need to borrow a travel cot we may be able to help you out. There is one high chair in the centre. If you have any questions or concerns as a family please speak to either Leanne or Steve, who will do their best to make things easier for you.
WHAT TO BRING: Please bring your own towels and toiletries. Also bring a pen and a Bible if you have one. We’ll give you a booklet when you arrive with space to make notes.
